«¡Mamá, se me pegó una cosa rara y nada graciosa!», grita la protagonista de este libro que, de un momento para el otro, ya no está sola. Hay algo que antes no estaba. Algo que no conoce y que, por algún motivo, no puede dejar atrás. Algo un poco molesto, insistente, que invade sus pensamientos. Primero, se resiste. Luego, piensa ideas para escaparse, o para asustar a la cosa. Nada parece funcionar.

Something she doesn’t know and that, for some reason, she can’t leave behind. Something a little annoying, insistent, that invades her thoughts. At first, she resists. Then, she thinks of ways to escape, or to scare the thing away. Nothing seems to work. But wait a minute… is she alone? Is it possible that many of us have our own “weird and not funny thing,” that mysterious, confusing, and complex entity that haunts us from time to time?
